Above: The Boulder Wine Merchant is one of the best wine shops in the U.S. imho. I’m super geeked to be working with them.
I’m thrilled to announce that the next Franciacorta Real Story tastings will take place on November 4 and 5 in Boulder, Colorado in partnership with the Boulder Wine Merchant and the shop’s owner, Master Sommelier Brett Zimmerman, one of the country’s leading wine professionals and a passionate advocate for Italian wines.
Ever since I first began working with the Franciacorta Consortium, Brett has encouraged me to bring the wines to Boulder.
Initially, there was reluctance among the powers-that-be to take our show to what was considered a “minor” as opposed to “major” market.
But with some cajoling, I’ve managed to convince the consortium management that this is exactly where we need to be: In markets where there is already healthy interest in Italian wine and an overwhelming thirst to discover new wines and appellations.
Currently, we’re planning an in-store tasting at his shop where we will taste four wines (the maximum allowed for a free onsite event in the state) that will be available for sale.
That will be followed the next day by a tasting of 12+ consortium member wines that are not currently available in the state.
Stay tuned for details!
