Franciacorta wines were featured a James Beard Foundation dinner, “Bubbles at the Beach,” held last month in New York.
Executive chef for Gianni’s at The Villa, a luxury hotel in Miami Beach, Florida, Thomas Stewart, created a menu especially for pairing with Franciacorta wines.
According the organizers, chef Thomas “brought a taste of the hotel’s extravagance” to the James Beard House.
The restaurant is named after Gianni Versace: Before becoming a luxury hotel, The Villa was his residence in South Beach.
Also in attendance was Dr. Riccardo Ricci Curbastro, a member of the Franciacorta Consortium’s Technical Advisory Committee and one of the pioneers of sparkling wine production in the appellation.
