A huge thanks goes out to Craig Perman and Perman Wine Selections, who hosted a Franciacorta Real Story tasting in Chicago earlier this month.
A group of 14 of the city’s top wine professionals gathered for a seated and guided tasting of 12 Franciacorta wines.
Honestly, it was one of the best tastings I’ve ever lead for the Franciacorta Real Story campaign: Every one of the tasters had interesting comments and insights to share and it seemed (at least to me) that the attendees all walked away with a solid grasp of Franciacorta’s uniqueness in the panorama of classic method sparkling wine today.
I was thrilled that we had decided to do a more formal event where I gave an overview on the appellation as the guests tasted the wines (similar to Silvano’s tasting in New York in April).
But the sweetest part of the deal was that just a few days later, Craig and his shop were voted the “best wine shop” in Chicago by the Reader, the city’s weekly newspaper.
Congrats to Craig and thanks to the wine community in Chicago for all the support. It was a great visit (special thanks to wine pro Linda Adams who gave me invaluable support in reaching out to our colleagues).
