Writing for the Georgia Straight, one of Vancouver’s leading daily newspapers, Canadian wine and lifestyle writer (and former “Sommelier of the Year”) Kurtis Kolt informs his readers this week that “Franciacorta… is a wine to add to your must-buy list.”
His encounter with Franciacorta came about at Collisioni, the art-music-culture-wine festival held each year in Barolo where he was part of a panel of industry insiders who tasted a flight of Franciacorta wines.
“A good start is Ferghettina’s Franciacorta Brut,” he notes in his piece. It’s “zippy with lemon zest and grapefruit pith, and expressive of the area’s gravelly, limestone-rich soil.”
