Heartfelt thanks go out today to the wonderful team at Nostrana in Portland, Oregon, where I hosted a Franciacorta Real Story tasting and evening on Monday night.
Chef and owner Cathy Whims created a Franciacorta-inspired tasting menu especially for the occasion and the restaurant served five Franciacorta wines by the glass.
And wow, what an incredible treat to pair Franciacorta wines with Pacific Northwest oysters on the half-shell!
Warm thanks also to the roughly 30 folks who attended the early-evening walk-around tasting. It was great to meet and taste with so many Italian wine lovers.
And a thousand thanks to the suppliers/distributors who took time out to pour (below). In the end we served a flight of 14 Franciacorta labels by Franciacorta consortium members.
What a wonderful restaurant and what a lovely town.
